Worth Commandery No. 19 held its Annual Installation of Officers today, on December 13, 2014 (12/13/14).  The installation ceremony took place in the 4th floor Commandery Asylum.
  • A call to order and welcome and introduction of guest and dignitaries was made by Joe Pearson, Worth Commandery's Junior Past Commander.
  • The pledge of Allegiance and Honor to the Texas Flag were recited by all present.
  • The Invocation was giving by Worth Commandery's Excellent Prelate Joe Orona.
  • Joe Pearson then introduced the installation team which consisted of:
    • Hal Ray, P.C., Installing Commander, Past Commander, Worth Commandery
    • John Huffman, P.C., Installing Marshal, Past Commander, Worth Commandery
    • Joe Orona, P.C., Installing Chaplain, Past Commander, Worth Commandery
After the installation of Officers, the newly installed Eminent Commander Jerry Taylor had some remarks for the new Officers and guests.  Then in an emotional transition of power, Jr. Past Commander Joe Pearson ceremoniously handed over his Commander Ring to the newly installed Commander Jerry Taylor for his care-taking.  Thanks was given to Jr. Past Commander Joe Pearson for his excellent year of service as the Eminent Commander.

Finally, Sir Knight and newly installed Sr. Warden John Hrisco was brought to the altar after some incognito descriptive words by Jr. Past Commander Joe Pearson to be presented with the Hank Grady Award of Merit that is presented each year to a Sir Knight for his dedication to and support of the Officers of Worth Commandery No. 19, for his service to the Commandery during the year of 2014.

Upon the closing of the installation ceremony, everyone adjourned to the Temple Ballroom for the Christmas Observance and Christmas Banquet.  In traditional form, several toasts were given at the beginning of the observance in honor of various national and state masonic dignitaries, one of whom was actually present at the ceremony, Charles Steve Wolfe, the Most Excellent Grand High Priest of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Texas.  Sir Knight Wolfe is a Past Commander of Worth Commandery as well as the most recent recipient of the Excalibur Award.

Commandery School of Instruction:

PictureR. E. Grand Commander Robert M. Loflin
was hosted by Worth Commandery #19 on Saturday 9th of August, 2014 at the Fort Worth Masonic Temple, Library &  Museum.  As Host Commandery, Worth Commandery provided coffee, and sweets during the registration and fellowship time, as well as a lunch beginning about 12:00 noon.  Breakfast which consisted of some delicious glazed doughnuts and coffee was served starting at 08:30 a.m.  A really tasty Mexican food lunch consisting of Chicken Enchiladas and spicy cheese enchiladas and rice and beans and chips with all the fixings was served.  Those Sir Knights who did not attend missed out.

In attendance were between 25-50 Sir Knights from around five to eight Commanderies from the North and Central Texas region.  We were honored to have in attendance The Right Eminent Grand Commander of Texas Robert M. Loflin, as well as The Eminent Grand Senior Warden Richard D. Doss, who also serves as one of the Grand Commandery of Texas Instructors.
The Schools of Instruction focus on improving our understanding and practice of our Tactics as Sir Knights of The Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Texas.

Grand Instructor Sir Knight Richard D. Doss covered the newly adopted modified opening that was recently approved at the 161st Annual Grand Conclave earlier this year in Houston.  If there is a School of Instruction in your area, I encourage
other Sir Knights to attend as well.  However, the host Commandery needs to  ensure that each one of their officers does, in fact, attends the School or another School of Instruction.
